Times are hard and we all know it. But if you have a business that you need to promote, you still need to have brochures printed so that people will know you are still in business. You need to advertise to keep selling. But how do you manage to continue with regular brochure printing if you are cutting costs?

Some business owners think that if they want to save on the brochure printing cost for creating these brochure materials they have to sacrifice the quality. But this does not have to be the case. Here are some tips that you can follow in order to come up with good quality brochures that speak your message and sell your products.

1. Produce smaller copies–The size of the brochure is one of the biggest factors for its cost. It is nice to experiment with different sizes with specialized cuts, but undoubtedly, they cost a lot. But if you can fit your content in a three-fold long sized bond paper, then you will surely save a lot of money. If you come to think of it, you can already say so much within the six panels of a three-fold brochure. And since this is a standard size paper, there will not be a lot of wastage for the printer and therefore they can give this to you at a much lower price than those special sizes.

2. Back to Basics –You can also cut down on the costs by eliminating those special treatments like trimmings, gold stampings, lamination, coatings, and die cuts. Make use of the usual printing output—colored printing on coated paper with 1 or two folds. Also use paper with average thickness. The thicker the paper, the more expensive it will become. But of course, do not use paper that is too thin because your end product will get easily damaged and it will look cheap.

3. Do your own proofreading –Most printers offer proofreading services but you can also do that yourself if you want to save costs. Or, just for double checking, you can ask one of your staff to re-read the texts and check for mistakes. It may require some extra work for you but if it means saving you some bucks for having to redo making the materials again, then why not do it?

4. Shop for printers –Big companies usually charge higher because they are reputable, have fancy offices, and highly paid sales executives. But there are also smaller commercial printers that can deliver good quality prints at a much lesser price primarily because they have less overhead expenses. These are the printers that can help you lower your costs. Get quotes from at least three printers and compare them. But also ask around if the printer that you have chosen has a record of good quality and service.

5. Go for Bulk Printing – Needless to say, in the world of printing, more means less. The more copies you are going to print, the cheaper each copy becomes. That is because the printing set up is just the same for 500 copies or 100,000 copies. So if you are printing an institutional brochure with offers that are not constrained by time, then go for bulk printing so that you can save on the cost per copy.

These are just some of the things that can help you cut back your brochure printing costs. So you no longer have the excuse of not having brochures printed because of cost cutting measures. After all, if they can help boost your sales, then give it a go.
